Emissions Goals
Transportation: Transportation action plan sets a mode shift goal of having 3 of every 5 trips taken by biking, walking or transit by 2030. The Minneapolis Comp plan 2040 sets a goal of reducing vehicle miles traveled in Minneapolis by 38% by 2050 in order to meet the 80% GHG reduction target. Renewable Energy: The City Council and Mayor have passed resolutions to achieve 100% renewable electricity for the City Enterprise by the 2022 and 100% renewable electricity for all of Minneapolis by 2030.
Policies
1) Minneapolis has a commercial and residential building benchmarking ordinance that covers nearly 1,000 of Minneapolis largest buildings. The city also has a Truth in Sale of Housing Energy score ordinance and a time of lease energy cost disclosure ordinance.
2) Minneapolis has passed two ordinances to achieve 100% renewable electricity for the city enterprise by 2022 and 100% community wide by 2030.
